Valentine’s Day Is Not Scary

Valentine’s Day is a consumerist holiday if you buy into the statement, “Valentine’s Day is a consumerist holiday.” If you don’t, then it’s probably about you, a loved one, maybe several loved ones, and taking another day to celebrate, perhaps more grandly, the love you acknowledge every day. Valentine’s Day didn’t begin with consumerism or celebrating relationships, but it can be those things, if you choose, or much more. There are far worse things to enjoy on a special occasion than your heart.
